Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi is a member of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi and the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Knowledge and Education as well as the Chancellor of the UAE University. He served as the Advisor to the UAE Minister of Education. 

Dr. Al Nuaimi holds a Ph.D. from Imam Mohammed Bin Saoud University, Saudi Arabia; a M.Sc. from Portland State University, USA; and a B.Sc. from Portland State University, USA. 
As UAEU Chancellor, Dr. Al Nuaimi oversees the pursuit of the university’s vision and mission as well as the implementation of university policies and procedures, including all academic, financial and administrative operations. Dr. Al Nuaimi has held other academic, research and administrative positions in the University and the College of Education where he has lectured in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction Department. 

Dr. Al Nuaimi has published numerous scientific journals (most recently in the International Journal of STEM Education) and participated in various regional and international conferences. His research interests are diverse and include in-depth analysis of best international practices in education, policy and strategy, Science class and expected career choices, drug abuse among the students in UAE, trends of cultural identity in Arabic and social studies textbooks at the elementary cycle in the UAE.

He believes that education plays a pivotal role in serving Abu Dhabi’s national progression as well as individual happiness, while producing future talent through encouraging innovation, creativity and ongoing knowledge. Dr. Al Nuaimi is a firm believer in valuing a strong personality, creativity and a can-do spirit amongst youth.
