Javier is the Founder and Executive Director of COGx, a research and development firm in applied cognitive science. In partnership with leading academic researchers and scientists, COGx translates scientific discoveries in human learning to evidence-based programs that target cognition in order to enhance learning outcomes. COGx also offers student courses and professional development for educators on the science of learning.
Javier is a frequent speaker on the topic of education reform, cognition and learning and interpreting cognitive science research to improve learning outcomes. Javier has published over 40 articles and essays, been interviewed by global media outlets, and presented at the numerous global conferences including the World Government Summit, Global Positive Education Conference and a TEDx. At COGx, Javier is responsible for partnerships to democratize access to COGx programs. Javier holds graduate degrees from Yale & Harvard and was a graduate fellow at MIT’s Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences.
Countries across the region unanimously agree on the importance of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Whilst countries across the Middle East & Africa unanimously uphold the importance of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, the nature of the challenges faced within the region are both complex and varied. This session will bring together a range of perspectives from across the region and identify touchpoints for strategizing collaboratively, enabling the achievement of sustainable development throughout the Middle East & Africa.
