Dr. Odhabi holds Bachelor degree in Physics, Master and PhD in computer simulation from Brunel University. He has over 25 years of experience including teaching, and leadership at the level of department head, dean, executive dean and director. He is currently the director of Abu Dhabi University, Al Ain, Dubai and AL Dhafra in the UAE. Dr. Odhabi has strong experience in developing and managing eLearning programs. He has over two decades of experience in academic and research leadership roles in higher education and technology in the United Kingdom and the UAE.
Before joining Abu Dhabi University in July 2019, Dr. Odhabi spent almost 20 years with the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE. As Executive Dean of Computer Science and Applied Communications, he built a dynamic and collaborative team with department chairs and faculty across 17 locations.
Traditional forms of education are being challenged by leading educators and innovators across the world. As careers grow more unpredictable, children will require a different set of skills in order to succeed after education. As a result, we must interrogate how we measure and award credentials in our student population.
