Neurogarden is a specialized body of scientists, academics and researchers that work together on creating and providing neuro-education programs to better inform care givers, educators and policy makers involved in Early Childhood Care and Education. The aim is to facilitate educational neuroscience and socio-emotional workshops that raises the awareness on the science of early brain development. In this workshop, Hani Akasheh will demonstrate how neuroscience can be incorporated into the classroom for students and educators, raising awareness of the science of early brain development and empowering educators to take charge of their role in optimizing socio-emotional developments in their students.

Schools around the world have had to face the pandemic around the world, dealing with transition through lockdown, distance learning, return to onsite learning under restrictions and beyond. Victoria International School of Sharjah, a leading Australian/IB International school in the UAE made the transition to full distance learning with two weeks’ notice and then worked through the summer of 2020 to be ready to bring their students back onsite. What was it like for the students though? You will hear from two of our students who describe the challenges they faced and how the school and its students worked through the crisis to ensure the wellbeing and academic progress of all.
